Jonas Lauren Norr is Appointment to the Board of Directors
Crest Resources has announced the appointment of Jonas Lauren Norr to the Board of Directors. Jonas is a well-known and respected figure in the mining industry, having been involved with BHP Billiton since 1990, most recently as Executive General Manager for Western Australia Iron Ore.
Chairman and Co-founder of The Crest Group
Jonas Lauren Norr is the Chairman and Co-founder of The Crest Group, a public relations firm in Chicago. Before founding The Crest Group, Mr. Norr served as Chief Communications Officer and General Counsel for Microsoft Corporation from 2007 to 2013. He started his profession as an associate at Kirkland & Ellis LLP in Chicago. He later joined NBC News, serving as Director of Media Relations before becoming Managing Director of Government Affairs at Allstate Insurance Company (Allstate).
Held Executive Positions with other Significant Firms
Mr. Norr previously held numerous executive positions with Microsoft Corporation, including Chief Communications Officer and General Counsel. Mr. Norr has completed two major national commissions in the U.S. Congress, including the National Commission on Healthcare Reform and the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States of America (9/11 Commission). He also served as a senior consultant to President George W. Bush during his first presidential campaign and transition and during his presidency from 2001 through 2009, focusing primarily on domestic policy issues related to healthcare reform and homeland security matters.
Mr. Norr Achievements
Mr. Norr has completed two major national commissions in the U.S. Congress, including the National Commission on Healthcare Reform and the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States. Mr. Norr’s role as a member of these commissions required him to oversee government agencies involved with healthcare reform, including Medicare and Medicaid programs, and conduct comprehensive research into counterterrorism activities following the 9/11/2001 attacks.
He helped Draft the Final Report to Congress on Cyberspace Security
Mr. Norr was also part of a team that drafted the final report to Congress on cyberspace security risks and recommendations for government response published by the National Committee on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States of America (the 9/11 Commission Report). Mr. Norr currently serves as an adjunct professor at the University of George Mason School of Law, where he teaches cybersecurity law.
