Launch House, a member-based community founded in 2020 to support emerging leaders, is taking its venture arm support to the next level with the addition of House Capital. This multimillion-dollar early-stage fund will invest in pre-seed and seed-stage companies in the Launch House circle and outside of it. Funded by leading Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital, and other names such as Serena Williams, Anja Health recently received an investment from House Capital. As part of this move, founders also obtain a lifetime LH community membership.
House Capital is led by general partners Michael Houck, Brett Goldstein, and Jacob Peters, who are looking to add further value to the existing LH members and increase overall returns into the community. Headquartered out of Los Angeles, the firm looks for innovative startups aiming to solve real-world problems.
House Capital seeks to provide more than capital – rather, they want to pair each portfolio company they invest with mentors and resources needed to succeed. Additionally, they plan on experimenting with new growth or marketing tactics per their “Experiment” fund initiative which provides additional funding for specific campaigns or initiatives often tested before scaling up wider.
House Capital’s general partners, Houck, Goldstein, and Peters, will use the funding to further support the LH community by investing in members and returning profits to the community. They have already invested in female-led companies like Anja Health, who receive lifetime membership with Launch House upon investment completion. Partners such as Y Combinator, Sequoia Capital, Paradigm, and a16z alongside LPs, including founders of Dropbox/YouTube joining forces with notable Rick Yang (NEA), James Currier (NFX), Andrew Chen/Sriram Krishan (a16z).
